Brian Smithgall
Founder, President & Chief Engineer

Brian has been involved in the machine vision industry for over twenty years. He started the company in 1993 to provide the machine vision and imaging industry with targeted solutions. Brian holds an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Southern Cal, and led two successful startups before ILI. He is a long time member of SPIE, SME and IEEE, and and is recognized as a Certified Manufacturing Engineer with the SME Machine Vision Association and a Senior Member of the IEEE. Brian holds two patents in image processing systems and has given numerous professional papers. He led ILI to its selection as an INC-500 company in 2000 and 2001.
